Morgan Jarvis
Morgan Jarvis, co-owner and professional dog trainer, has over 20 years of experience working and having fun with dogs.
As a member of the world famous SuperDog team for over 18 years, Morgan has toured and performed throughout North America as well as Puerto Rico and Bermuda.
She has been highlighted in the feature film Daniel and the SuperDogs and has had appearances on numerous television productions.
Morgan is a firm believer in motivational training methods and has conducted seminars in the United States teaching the "clicker method" of dog training.
Currently, Morgan's apricot standard poodle, Teegan, and Blitz, a border collie/jack russell mix, are active members of the SuperDogs team. When life gets too hectic, Morgan proudly turns the handling of these high performance dogs over to her daughter, Shayne. She grins from ear to ear when she describes how wonderfully Shayne performs and handles the dogs in front of a cheering crowd.
When she's not teaching, grooming or performing at shows and competitions, Morgan actively competes in flyball, disc, dock jumping and agility competitions across North America. Morgan has titled dogs in AAC, NADAC and CKC agility events.
In 2006, Morgan and Blitz qualified for the Skyhoundz Worlds Disc Dog Championship competition in Atlanta, ranking 4th in Canada and placing in the top 25 teams in the world.
Morgan currently races on one of Ontario's fastest flyball teams -- On the Fly, sponsered by SuperDog Central Inc. She has trained and titled many flyball dogs to their OYNX and Grand Champion Awards, and has over 17 years of flyball competition experience.
Morgan's standard poodle, Tres, and border terrier, Trixie, were #1 and #2 flyball dogs in their breed for many years. Tres was the first standard poodle in NAFA to obtain 5 prestigious flyball awards.
Trixie earned the fastest dog award under 15", Coolest Height Dog, 24 Carat Gold Award, PeeWee All Star and 4-Breed Dream Team. Bill the border collie, was the recipient of the Tailspinners Veteran Dog trophy in 2002, clocking times of 4.1 seconds at 8 years of age. Currently Teegan is ranked eighth out of 164 registered standard poodles that race flyball. In his prime Teegan was the fastest standard poodle in North America, averaging times of 4.6 seconds.
Morgan has travelled the world teaching and organizing flyball competitions. In 2005, Morgan was invited to Japan to organize a flyball tournament and undertake flyball training seminars.
Morgan Jarvis has a diploma in Animal Husbandry. She is a Certified Dog Groomer, and is a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, Ontario Dog Grooming Association, and the International Professional Groomers Association. She has won 1st, thru 3rd place in ODGA grooming competitions and Best Groomed Dog by ODGA member.
Morgan has worked with The Toronto Humane Society and The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA).
Aside from Billy, Blitz and Teegan, Morgan shares her life with Tactix a border collie/jack russell mix, Trinity a standard poodle and Tango, a miniature poodle. All her dogs with the exception of Tactix and Trinity have been from local Humane Societies or rescue groups.
